It's early — expect things to change, and the odd thing to break. If something does, or reads wrong, say so at [email protected]. That's what a beta this size is for.
Three steps, and the first one takes about as long as photographing the docket.
Photograph a paper docket, or forward the emailed invoice from an online order. Both go into the same place.

A price at a store on a date is a fact about the shop. Who bought it is a fact about a person — so prices travel, and purchases don't. Docket shares the first and keeps the second entirely to itself.
Scan something in the aisle and see what other shoppers have paid for it — a median across everyone who's bought or scanned it, the range it's sat in, and which store the cheapest sighting was at. Your own two receipts can't answer that. Fifty people's can.
A "Cheaper elsewhere" card turns up on an item's history, the shelf check, and mid-trolley. It names the store and how much less, with the age said in words, not a date.
Any saving Docket shows is worked out against the best price you've personally paid — not your latest one. A bad week shouldn't make an ordinary price look like a deal.
Contributing your own sightings is on by default and can be switched off in Settings. Reading the pool never depends on it — there's no "share yours or get nothing".
Nothing is scraped. Every figure here comes from someone who actually bought or scanned something — Docket never checks a store's live prices, and doesn't claim to.
A sighting is not a current price. It can be days or weeks old, which is why its age is always said in words — seen today, 3 days ago, 2 weeks ago — never left for you to work out from a date.
Nothing shows below three separate contributors, checked overall and again per store — so one person's shopping can never read back as "the crowd".
"Not enough people yet" is a different answer from "no data", and Docket says the honest one rather than collapsing the two into an empty screen.
What leaves your account is a price, a store and a date. No name, no basket, no time finer than the day.
A receipt says more about you than the total at the bottom. Docket treats it that way.
Everything you scan is scoped to your account — every query, every price, every history. Nobody else's data crosses into yours, and yours doesn't cross into theirs.
A receipt reveals more than groceries — alcohol, pharmacy items, who's in your household. Docket treats that data as sensitive, not as mundane shopping trivia.
Scan something in the aisle and see what other shoppers paid for it — that's the community price pool. It never shows below three separate contributors, and only a price, a store and a date ever leave your account. Who bought it stays yours.
